Pitches per AB

I apologize if I am wrong or if this has been addressed but when actually playing through a game it seems an AB is never greater than six pitches. It never feels like there are foul balls that lead to a 10 pitch AB or an 0-2 count where the pitcher winds up using 5+ pitches.

Maybe I am just missing it happening and you can delete this if I'm wrong, but was just wondering why is this?

Are you going pitch-by-pitch or one-pitch AB? Taking pitches or swing away?

I've had quite a lot of 7+ pitch ABs but I always do one-pitch ABs. Players with higher eyes/draw walks tend to work more pitches from my experience.

They do happen.

I play out all my games. Have since OOTP 9. The biggest AB pitch count I've seen is a 17 pitches AB.

I don't have any data to back this up but this is just as a general overview of playing out so many games. Longer at bats tend to happen when you have a pitcher with high Stamina but poor stuff and control ratings vs a batter with good eye.

It's very rare (at least for me) to see a SP with a low Stamina (like 31) go into many high pitch counts. I think it's to balance out to give them the chance of going deep in games. Obviously, only a dev could concur, but I've played well over 1 000 games playing every single at bat over the years and that's an observation I made.

I dunno. YMMV.
Might want to add that I play one pitch so counts are already generated for the final pitch.
