Game options screen, delay after play

Very nice new feature but the delay is set for after the play and it should be set "before the play".
Example. Currently if I set the delay to 7 seconds and the batter hits a pop up toward first, the catcher, pitcher, 1st baseman will gather together and one will catch th ball and that scene (the 3 players standing together) will freeze for 7 seconds. Then in a flash everyone is back in position and the pitcher is throwing to the next batter before I have time to see the defensive alignment, the labels showing defensive ratings, batters name con/pow ratings etc..
The delay "should" occur when the pitcher is back on the mound getting ready to pitch with the labels showing names/rating displayed for 7 seconds or to whatever I have set.
This is a nice additional feature, it's just set at the wrong point ot action. Thank You.

Agreed 100%. As well, once I change the set amount of time, it will not let me change it again, even when I play different games, it seems stuck on the number I set it to originally. Any way to change it?

You may need to uncheck the "pause between plays" button when you go start the new game. As the delay option doesn't do anything if you are pausing between plays, the option is disabled.

But this doesn't address my issue in the OP. The delay is set at the wrong point. The delay should occur when the pitcher is on the mound and the batter is at the plate so you have time to see batters name, defensive alignment etc..
As it is now, the delay occurs when the fielder catches the ball, and then after the delay it "flashes to the next batter hitting the ball before you can see his name, defensive alignment etc..
Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about after the first 2 batters.
(Single pitch mode, not pitch by pitch)

DanKrieder. To change the delay setting you must be on the game options screen with the pause button at the top of this page "unchecked". You can do this just before starting the game or during the game. If during the game you must first stop play by "checking" the pause button, then hit the option button to get to the option screen, the delay button will be grayed out so you will need to go to the top of this page and "uncheck" the pause button, then you are allowed to change the delayed setting. But again this is not my complaint.
The delay should occur just before the pitcher throws the ball, NOT when the fielder catches the ball----there is a big difference.

I think there's some value in having the delay where we have it, if you want to have time to read the PBP text (plus if you hit escape at that time, it should come back properly before the next AB). And mostly, the way we handle it in code is simply easier to put the pause in where we had it

But yeah, I understand potentially wanting a further pause before the actual play. We may look to add another option to pause there as well.
