Retired players

When a player retires and you make them a coach - do they always go in as a Bench Coach or can you define the role?

retired players will come into the league as coaches on their own, at random coaching positions (however very few batters become pitching coaches and vice versa)...

However, if you turn a retired player into a coach yourself, they will always be bench coaches until you edit their preferred coaching position
