Question for Cato

With the stats output from CSV reporter, how intelligent is your program? I know it warns you if you miss a field, but what would happen, say, if I just chose "Select All" in all but the situational stats? Does the program know where to look, or will that REALLY mess things up? Reason being I keep screwing up leaving fields out, and wondered if "Select All" would cause any problems

Regardless, AWESOME program Cato. (Even if I don't understand a word of this Win Shares thing)

It's not very intelligent, at all. The first line (the column headers) is completly ignored. It is hard coded and expects the listed stats, and only the listed stats.

As for checking the boxes being a problem, you can ease the burden a little. Once you've checked all the correct stats, go to the File menu and choose Save. This will save a report indicating which checkboxes are checked. There is a bug in the report, though, that prevents it from saving the checkboxes on the Batting (This Year) and Pitching (This Year) tabs. But, all the other tabs will be saved. I made the needed stats on the Batting and Pitching tabs a continuous block so that it is easy to use the down arrow and spacebar to quickly run through and check the correct boxes.

All that being said, unless your using OOTP3, I would strongly recommend using CommishJoe's Exporter utility. It is much easier to import with those files, and if you want traded players' team splits, the Exporter is the only way to go.

Thanks Cato! Didn't want to find out the hard way that it read, oh I don't know, HR's as AVG

Thanks for the tip on saving the checkboxes. That will make life a lot easier.

Would use the exporter, but when I did, it didn't work. Doesn't worry me too much. I'm doing it to get an overall view of the league and the player history.

Thanks again for the answers!
