The offseason has not gone especially well for the Jays. They were upside down on their budget (and still are). That really hurt any chance they had at keeping / acquiring free agents and every trade involved a salary dump of some sort.

Notable Losses:

Logan Morrison (Free Agency)
Seth Smith (Free Agency)
Slade Heathcott (Trade to DET)
Jon Lester (Trade to DET)
Charlie Furbush (Free Agency)
Jarrod Parker (Free Agency)
Jarred Cosart (Trade to OAK)

Notable Additions:

Austin Schotts (Trade from DET)
Jacob Brugman (Trade from OAK)

Marcus Stroman looked good in the Blue Jays Spring Opener and the hitting was decent, but the Toronto bullpen is clearly in need of some more spring.

They lost to the A's 9-5.

Kes Carter has a strained oblique and is out until late April.

Both he and Wendell Rijo are placed on the D.L.

Yairo Munoz and Bobby Bradley are called up from the minor league camp.

In game where no lead ever seemed safe, it was somehow appropriate that it was won by a walk-off grand slam. Oakland won 13-10.

The Jays got homers from Daniel Carbonell, Mark Trumbo, Marcell Ozuna, and Hyun-soo Kim.

Bobby Wahl left the game with a fairly minor injury. A few days rest will have him ready to go to the minor league camp.

WP - Ariel Miranda (2-0)
LP - J.J. Hoover (1-1)

Spring Record - 10-5
