Ironic Playoff Loss

I'm in my 81st season as the Manager of the Texas Rangers in my long running fictional MLB clone. I've won a lot and lost plenty as well but honestly can't remember being walked off 3 times in a 7-game series especially having two shots to win the series going into Toronto with a 3-2 lead.

It was only after the series was over that the irony of me, a long time Blue Jay fan living in Toronto would lose to those dirty birds that way. Oh well I'll just go back to the basement and look at my 27 WS rings.

There is always a next year in OOTP and life.

Great post RchW! Shortly after OOTP 17 came out I managed to build the A's into a mighty force after about 10 seasons or so (a LOT of work!!). Anyways I'm playing in the World Series, in Oakland, up 3 games to 2 against the Dodgers. Top of the 9th, up by a run, and with two outs I'm one strike away from winning the WS. Their pinch hitter grounds a ball hard towards first base, and my first baseman errors on the play allowing their hitter to reach. The next batter for the Dodgers homers!! I ended up losing this game, along with Game 7.

Shades of Bill Buckner in the WS between the Red Sox and the Mets!!!
