[OOTP17] Looking for Play-By-Play Strategies

Would someone be so nice and provide some short insights on the 9-11 offense and defense play-by-play actions. I have already found some information but some of them was outdated and some of them was incomplete.

What I have already found and read is this writeup from majesty95 which was amazingly helpful.

I would really love to see something like:
1. Pitch
Weak batters
Low eye
Low contact
2. Pitch Around
Hot Batters (or even use intentional walk)
High Contact
Low Eye

Do not pitch around when XYZ happens because ZXY could happen as well.

Something that gives me a short kickstart into the game Thanks to everyone how provides some more insights for a complete baseball noob slowly picking up OOTP17

The guide mentioned has good information.

Pitch around: is used in situations where you don't mind walking the batter. The purpose of pitch around is to not give the hitter anything good to hit and hope he swings at bad pitch. The ideal outcome here is either induce weak contact or walk the hitter and face a weaker hitter. This is mostly used in situations where there are runners on but first base is open. For example, if there is a runner on second and the opposing teams best hitter is at the plate. You may wish to pitch around that hitter. If he gets weak contact you get an out, if he walks then he doesn't advance the other runners.

If it's a close game and there are two outs, you may want to use this option even if the bases are empty against a homerun threat to reduce possibility of a game tying/winning homerun.. The danger in this move is the hitter still has a chance to get a hit if the pitcher misses his spot.

If you absolutely want to avoid facing the best hitter you could alternatively intentionally walk the better as well. The intentional walk guarantees that hitter cannot hurt you with the bat. The trade off is you have no chance of retiring him and you put him on base. That strategy is best used in close and late. Earlier in the game or if you have a sizable lead I would go with pitch around.

I'll write up more when I have some time. I hope this helps.
