Strange Occurrences

In my new OOTP 17, I have just started to set things in the Game and League Settings along with perusing the game as a whole and noticed a couple of things that jumped out at me. Could someone please clarify why these two things are happening...

1. I see that the players look like themselves, but the managers and GM's arent even close. Do I load the 2016 All In One add on to make them look like themselves?

2. I havent done any manipulation with personnel or staff, but I notice a Brian Forst is the GM of the A's and Billy Beane is unemployed in the Staff Search listings. Also, a Michael Hill is the GM of the Marlins.

That's because David Forst is the GM of the Athletics. Billy Beane was promoted to team president a few years back, although he still has final decision making approval.

Same with Chris Antonetti and Mike Chernoff in Cleveland, Theo Epstein/Jed Hoyer with the Cubs, Andrew Friedman/Farhan Zaidi with the Dodgers, etc...

Someone once suggested adding a Team President option into the game, and while I originally thought it unnecessary, I have since come around as more and more teams use the President position in real life to reward an accomplished GM and treat the GM position as more of an assistant.

Also, Michael Hill is the GM of the Marlins, so that's why he's listed as such.

Welp.....looks like I need to brush up on GMs 101.

But why do my GMs and managers not look anything like their real selves? Do I need to add the 2016 AIO??

I am not a fan of the AIO when it comes to mgrs. They will use the facegen for the player version not the MGR. Out of the box 2016 seems to be unaffected by this though. Ventura looks like Ventura of today not 1987. i do have some good FG for MGRs , although not all of them are active. Here are a few.

Yeah, there've been a couple of article on this lately, terming it "title inflation." Basically, because teams are usually expected to let a guy go to another team for a promotion but not for a lateral position, a lot of them are using this as a way to "protect" an assistant GM they think they might want to make their real GM in the future. Make the GM the President, but with the responsibilities of a GM, make the assistant the GM, but still with only the responsibilities and powers of an assistant, and then no other team can snatch him away from you by giving him their GM job. I guess teams are, for now, still loathe to take someone's unproven assistant and raise him all the way up to the President title.
