Batters Faced Limit

It is becoming more common that pitchers are managed not only to a pitch count, but also to a batters faced count(pitchers are deemed 2 or 3 times through the order<18 or 27> BF). These levels are determined by # of pitches the pitcher has in his repertoire or just success he has each time through the order.
Is this something that can be added to the game as an additional way to manage your pitching staff?

number of pitches is already in the game. You can tell the game this pitcher can only go say 100 pitches a game. They would automatically pull him. What I don't know to be 100% sure is if the AI will wait till after the at bat or just prior to the at bat like as if he was sitting on 98 pitches with batter coming up to the plate.

This is very new. Doubtful for this version but I'll be asking for the next version.

My only concern is that IRL it is probably a range ie 21-24 batters. In the game it will likely be one number. I'd find it gamey if my 3rd starter faced 22 batters every start.

Yes, I know pitch count is in there. Batters faced is a different approach, just has pitch count as a backup plan...
As for IRL, batters faced approach in its purest form is times through the lineup as hitters "learn" with every time facing the pitcher, particularly the "smarter" hitters towards the top of the order... I suppose it often goes 1-2 batters into the next time through the order when the 1-2 hitters aren't as feared to do major damage, but by the time you get to the #3 hitter, that pitcher is out of the game. So 18-20, 27-29 are reasonable ranges of batters to permit a pitcher to face, but beyond that really isn't realistic IRL.

Bump this for inclusion in OOTP 18. This is closer to how pitchers are used these days than by pitch count... I would say most teams manage SPs to times through the order as hitters improve every time they see same pitcher.
