cannot continue season
this is a thread from the general discussion board; figured I'd get it over here:
Help FYI, I've imported this league from OOTP4 to OOTP5 in the hopes that something would change, but everything is exactly the same. If you could help out in any way I would appreciate it. I can send you a zip of the league if you would like to see it. Thanks

Just in case the lack of attention I'm getting here is a hint that you need more info:
Windows 2000 SP3 Started with STB2003 (with all patches installed), now trying it on OOTP5 PIII 750MHz, 512MB RAM (laptop - IBM ThinkPad A21m) plenty of free HD space running at 1024x768 DirectX 9 I started a historical league in 1994 and when attempting to go between 2013 and 2014, the game no longer gives me an option to advance. The first steps of the off-season of 2014 seemed to go fine, as players retired and everyone seems to be displaying the correct age. All players and coaches/scouts whose contract had expired are no longer on their former teams. However, the game has frozen at 1/26/14 (where I would expect to begin the hire coaches/scout process). There is no button to begin this procedure anywhere. If I go to the coaches/scouts section, I can hire coaches/scouts...but the AI controlled teams are not bidding for players. It's exactly like I'm trying to replace my coach or scout in June...where they'll either accept or decline my contract offer immediately rather than having a day go by before you know. I have tried going to the league schedule screen and advancing by 1 day, but still it doesn't trigger anything. I have even tried to advance all the way to the beginning of the season (skipping coaches, free agents and spring training) but most of the players in the league have their abilities at 0 for some reason so I can't really even do that. Do you need any further info? Do you just simply not know how to fix this? Is this something you know CANNOT be fixed? I would just like an answer, one way or the other. I would love to be able to continue this league in OOTP5 (which I have already purchased...twice). Thank you

Nope...no crashes or lockups to speak of in the process.
I wasn't watching the progress bars or anything during the off-season, just when I came back to my system it was sitting there at the standings window. I didn't think any differently of it at first, and I went to the news section to see who had retired. After I read through the list, I went back to the standings screen to start the next step in the off-season.....and there was no button to do so. And that's where I am still.
