Free agent loyalty question

When players hit free agency, do they still retain any of their loyalty ratings towards their previous team?

For example, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera had both become free agents IRL, but there was never any question they would be returning to the Yankees. If their OOTP equivalents had hit free agency, would they instantly just forget their loyalty to the Yankees since their OOTP team would change from "Yankees" to "free agent"? Or, do they retain any of the existing loyalty?

Derek Jeter in my league played the majority of his career with Detroit. Mo played half of his career in another major league. So I am guessing no but Lukasberger or Matt would probably know more then most.

Jeter and Mo were really just used an examples. I'm really asking about free agents in general.
