Question about warming up relievers
I play out all my games and enjoy having the managing experience be as real as possible so I leave the warming up of relievers function on.
My question is does bringing in a reliever that isn't warmed up completely affect their performance? If so, what happens when there is an injury to your current pitcher and you don't have anyone loosening in the pen? Does the game replicate real life where a reliever is given as much time as needed to get ready after an injury so he essentially enters the game warm? Just curious as I had to bring my closer in cold after an injury to my pitcher and he uncharacteristically gave up 3 runs. I just need something to pin this loss on really

I don't believe there is any special coding for cold relievers post-injury. It's the same as any other cold reliever.

I have an excellent pen. 3,01 ERA (2nd in NL) thru July 6th. I will on occasion forget to warm someone up and bring them in cold or sometimes not fully warm and rarely do they get shelled.
