Stolen bases
Does anyone have any good settings in regards to stolen bases? Both stolen bases and attempts are down in my 2016 quickstart. Furthermore, it always seems like, while playing out games, getting a "good" jump is like pulling teeth.

Stolen bases have been down for me in general with OOTP 17. Haven't changed any settings (I'm using 2010 as a base for my fictional league) and 30 stolen bases usually is the most by a player per year for me now.

SB has been much harder to get. I should check settings.

Okay...so to piggyback off this, can someone check what the settings were for OOTP 16? I would do it myself, but I uninstalled the game. Upon re-installation, I need to license it again and I no longer have that e-mail so I can't do so...

I'm not 100% sure but check the Base Steal Attempts modifier in your LTM. Mine was set to .6; I loaded up a fresh game and saw that the default should be around .8.
When I upped it it was already August/September but the eye test seemed to show more steals occurring. |

Yes, there is a problem with SBīs........
Running a 32-Team-Fictional League on 2015-Settings...... On this setting, the 32 Teams should produce around 2700 SBīs but they produced nearly constantly just around 1800 SBīs per season (11 years done). Autocalc adjust the modifier for "Stolen Base Attempts" year after year to around .7xx ! It seems Autocalc is very happy with this adjustment for whatever reason but nearly 900 SBīs are missing per season. Last edited by FenwayPark; 04-09-2016 at 10:04 PM. |

i can say that a stolen base attempts LTM will give about a 1000-1200 spread of results, if around 3000-4000ish sb (30t/162g-type leagues). SB's can fluctuate a ton.. it takes quite a few years to get an accurate average from a specific LTM
if you have results further away from your expectation by more than 500-600, you should raise/lower it appropriately. fewer the attmepts, smaller the range of results, i would guess. so, guesstimate the scale for your league. |

I'm having an issue stealing bases in one pitch mode that wasn't happening in years past, not in my experiences anyway. It's impossible to steal a base in one pitch mode unless I run and hit. A straight up steal the runner never goes. I hate to say never, but I have never had a runner leave thus far in 17.

The runner goes in one hit mode. If the pitcher is focused on holding, you have to send multiple times. But if the runner doesn't go the first time, it's probably a good idea not to send him.

Using 2010-2012 as a base for my league in multiple tests, I'm still seeing around 30 SB as the league leader. Only a few players each season have more than 20. I never remember this being an issue in previous versions, but this year has really lowered the amount of SB in my leagues.
Have you guys noticed this as well? |

I don't know guys. This is anecdotal but I think SB's might be ok. I have a guy on my team who stole 58 bases in a season. But his a Steal and Speed ratings were both 100.
