My Player Career

I know this is probably never going to happen but imagine. You can choose a player, fictional or real, and play as him making career decisions and moving from team to team.

Neat idea, playing as a player. I did create myself to play in a major league and called it "My So-Called Career".

I'm a big fan of this idea. Only problem is that there is no way to really develop your player in a game of chance. What would be cool (and realistic), however, is if you could be an agent. You could field offers from teams for your players while managing off the field issues and negotiate, etc. That would be awesome

What an interesting idea. I would think that there are so many variables to contend with that it would be hard to program. You can always pick a young prospect and follow his career though.

I would also like to see some this done or expanded upon. I have run an Adopt a prospect thread and it is really difficult dealing with Free Agency. It would be great to be able to request FA offers and select one to favor, decline, negotiate, or sign immediately.

It was easily the most frustrating part of my world when I was running 10 prospects.

What you describe reminds me of a game that was met with very mixed reviews; Inside The Park Baseball.

Creating a player and playing as him is the only thing i like about MLB the Show and Madden. Would love for OOTP to have this. i always tend to create myself. Interesting seeing a knuckleballer toss it at 97. On the Show I am 12-9 3.45 139 IP as a rookie for the Sox. My nephew just finished his 4th year and went 34-1 1.12 345 IP 656 K 34 BB. While it is hardly realistic it is cool.
