Historical Minors with Fictional Players

I tried to start a fictional league but with real minor league affiliations and it seems like even if I uncheck the Import Historical Players option, the real minor league option still brings in players. The draft classes are fictional but there are still real players that enter the league.

Is there a way to not have this option? I would like the realism of real minor leagues but not have any real players

I would like to see this as well.

My favorite way to play is to play out a complete fictional MLB history will all fictional players but the correct teams, expansions etc..

You can just dump all people into Free-Agent Market then fill Teams with frictional people or take like 2015 Historical Leage don't check real people.

Well, yes. But real minor league players will still import in draft classes with the historical minor league settings on.

I think I figured out a way to do this. What I did was. Once the league was setup the way I wanted it (I started in 1979) I edited the "historical_minor_database.odb" and "historical_database.odb" (in the stats folder) so they were empty files.

That prevented real players from entering the league while allowing everything else to update correctly (expansion teams, real minor league affiliates, etc.).

I simmed ahead about 15 season and all seems to be working ok.

Here's what I did step by step.

1. Created historical league (Settings. Keep import and maintain real minors and automatically expand league checked. Use the ootp engine and set recalc off of coarse. )

2. Release and delete all real players. to delete minor leaguers go into find all players and select "include minor leaguers". Tag and delete them.

3. Clear league history if you want.

4. Uncheck import historical rookies.
* at this point I exit and create a backup of the league

5. Fill teams with fictional players. I also did a release & draft, created fictional contracts, team financials, etc. but those steps shouldn't be necessary.

6. Exit game and replace default "historical_minor_database.odb" and "historical_database.odb" with the blank ones. I've attached mine so you dont have to edit them. Just make sure you backup the originals of coarse as you'll still need them for other leagues or when you create a new league.

One issue I've come across in playing out my league is immediately following the playoffs the number of rounds for the rookie draft changes itself to 64. I assume because it still thinks it's importing real rookies.

That's fine if you want that many rounds, but otherwise you'll need to manually set it back to your desired amount after each season. I looked through the settings and don't really see away around this. If anyone can think of a way, please let me know.
