Fictional Financial Assistance..Help

After many years of playing standard MLB I have created a fictional league. Fictional teams and fictional players

So far so good until....

I am having an inaugural draft and there are no player contracts for the available players....

Should I draft first or create contracts for the players first? Also, all of my teams markets are non-existent....do I fill these via the League Settings menu option or will the game do it on it's own at some point?

Any help or pointer appreciated!

When you draft you won't know what contract the player will have, how much or length. Even going into commissioner mode it doesn't show anything. If you try to edit the contract/salary before draft it doesn't use it, seems to be random.
Obviously if you draft a high rated player they will have a high salary to start unless in arbitration status but won't know the details until after.
The team details fill in after the draft.
After the draft you may want to go into commissioner mode and adjust the market size etc if it doesn't feel right since it may be way off of what you planned.
Couple screenshots showing some typical salaries and team financials created from draft.

Go to your financial settings page before the draft and set the figures to what you want them at. Original contracts, etc will based off what you set here.

You also have to sim a day when the draft is finished for OOTP to assign contracts and financials.
The old tried and true way of forming a fictional league with draft.
1. Draft
2. Assign fictional contracts to staff.
3. Finish the day
4. Assign fictional financials to teams (bases market size budget etc on payroll and league financial settings)
