Anyone check out MLB headlines today with possibilities of the Orioles obtaining Ken Griffey Jr. What do you think about that? Camden Yards would definitely be kind do junior.

Well its kinda funny that the GAB was basically built around his strong points and Adam Dunn will probably get more use out of it the 2/3 years that he plays for Cincinnati.

Well, You guys seen Griffey this Spring Training? He has been hitting great. Hit 3 homers today, 1 a grand slam. Now he has 4 homers in... I think 7 games. He has been doing great. I say give him this season and see how he pans. I guess he has been working on his leg strength harder then ever this offseason to get it back, I say give him this year.

I gotta agree with scoobz. I would really have to see him stink it up another year to write him off. He was just too good before to write him off so quickly. It's obvious he won't be what he once was, but I think he will be at least a borderline all-star for years to come.
Now trading him? I can't see anyone taking on his premier player salary without getting premier player quality... except the Orioles. They love overpriced veterans. |

You really can't base a guys worth on what he does in spring training. Some guys don't put out a 100% effort in the spring (some even less than 70%). Not to mention, you've got All-Stars tacking hacks against 21-year old kids who haven't pitched above A Ball.
If you went by spring training numbers, Mike Greenwell would've been a Hall of Famer. Griffey Jr. is a cancer to his team. Reds were a playoff team before he showed up, they've been cellar dwellers since. He was a great individual player but he won't ever get a World Series ring. He's a cancer.

The Reds "no playoff" push has not been 100% Ken Griffey. For instance- Sean Casey- Average and Homeruns have dropped every year since 1999, and he finished with a pathetic 6 homeruns, and .261 average in 2002. Starting Pitching- Where is it? Catchers- Do they have any? SS- Barry Larkin is always injured, and they have no one to replace him. Pokey Reese was horrible The Reds simply have a lack of talent to make it to the show. They over achieved the year they almost made the playoffs, and now they are back to average. The stars on this team, such as Adam Dunn do not have enough game experience or patience, as he struck out 170 times last year. Therefore, blaming it on the greatest hitter of the 90's is a little too harsh

Adam Dunn has no patience?! Um, have you checked his walk totals recently? If anything, he's too patient!

I'm not giving up on Griffey, but I think the owner of the Reds is going to do the same thing that Brown did to the Bengals now that he's got his new stadium built, it why I think Dunn will be gone once he's either arbitration eligible or his contract come up. |

I agree Griffey is a bad attitude in the club house but you also have to look at all the pressure put on him and i think he handled it all the wrong way. I think the best thing for him was these trade talks, I think it will light a fire under him like we have seen a glimpse of in spring training. I think he finally returns to 40hr at least this year and finally gets the media back off his rear end.

Griffey and Grant Hill have a lot of similarities now. In the 90s they were considered the best. When they changed new teams they have been terrible b/c of injuries (well in Griffs first year he did ok) It looks like Hill will never get it back, can Griffey?? I should have never bought all of those griffey rookie cards..damn, damn, damn. However i think Griffey will get it back and make the Hall of Fame. He only needs like 40 homers. Think of the kind of numbers he would have had if he didnt have those awful seasons!! Those 3 homers he hit yesterday are good signs.
