Has anyone ever done this yet in any version of OOTP?

Instead of taking control of a team, or building a brand new team/league, with the intention of creating (hopefully) a long sustaining dynasty of dominance and excellence, has anyone took control of a team with the sole purpose of trying to ruin it for as long as possible, as quickly as possible, and seeing just how much an owner will put up with before firing you?

I know we're all creators at some level, but it seems to me another fun way to play this game is to create havoc, just because you can.

I haven't yet, but the idea of doing that to a team just intrigues the hell out of me for some reason.

I know a guy did it with Man City in FM so hard that after he left (granted he would rehire himself so he could get a full season), Man city suffered back to back relegations.

Has anyone ever actually been fired by an MLB owner? I didn't meet any of my owner's expectations over 8 seasons and was never let go. Only made the playoffs 1 of the seasons and the farm system remained mediocre.

I have in previous versions. Started a massive and sudden rebuild and was fired the same year.

My team in the fictional league I started was predicted to be the best team in baseball and we ended up like 5th worst.... I wasn't trying to do that though....

I will be starting a 1972 Historical League with Historical Minors and will be taking over the Houston Astros (in Commissioner Mode so I will not get fired). I figured after the following trades,

Nov. 29, 1971: Astros deal 2B Joe Morgan to Cincinnati for 1B Lee May and 2B Tommy Helms. Also in that trade SP Jack Billingham, IF Denis Menke, OF Ed Armbrister and CF Cesar Geronimo to Cincinnati for SS Jimmy Stewart
May was one of the game's best sluggers and hit 57 home runs in two seasons with the Astros before the team dealt him for Enos Cabell in 1974. Helms had a solid career with the Astros, but Joe Morgan went on to become a Hall of Famer and one of the best second basemen of all-time.
I say there might have never been a "Big Red Machine" had the Astros not been in a rush to trade away Morgan. But that is just me
.
Dec. 2, 1971: Astros trade John Mayberry to Kansas City for Jim York and Lance Clemons.
After trading Joe Morgan for slugging first baseman Lee May, the 22-year-old Mayberry became expendable, so he was shipped out, too. Mayberry went on to play 11 more seasons and made two All-Star teams. Clemons never pitched for the Astros and York spent four seasons in the Houston bullpen.

why not trade all the players and bring up the Minor Leaguers as the Astros did in 2012. Just for fun I might keep Cesar Cedeno to see how long it takes before he demands a trade.

I have done it to the Red Sox on multiple occasions. I actually tried to see if I could do worse with the 2003 Tigers. Came about 15 wins off. Going to keep trying.

It might be possible to lose 125+ with the Rockies if you have a horrid rotation.

If you do that, I hope you post regular updates because I'd be curious to see how that works out. It would certainly be an upgrade to the real-life, wheels-spinning path they took in the late '60s/early '70s when there seemed to be a shift in philosophy every year.

You mean that in addition to Commissioner's Mode he should add "Loria Mod" ?

Signing (or trading for) big time players - and then trading them away, still in off-season - leaving the fans in a state of shock ?

Yes, the Loria Mod could be a lot of fun

Wouldn't that be trivially easy? Just release or demote all of your ML level players, and replace them with your rookie league team (s).

Bam.

Did this on MLB Manager 2015 with the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a rebuild. Demoted everybody on the active roster down and then promoted everybody else and played everyone out of position. I believe at one point we were 5-60.

In a converted OOTP 16 league to the new version, while I was not trying to be fired, I was not really doing much as my favorite players had just retired - wound up quitting after two of my last three years I had a score of "1".

Lots of patience from the owner, actually too much, although he kept renewing my one year contract at a lower salary.

Here's the guy I mentioned earlier, but with FM, and his complete and utter destruction is what anyone attempting this should strive too.

At least watch untill he shows his foolproof tactic.

Lots to like going forward with the young guys, especially Nylander. Really hope TJ Brennan gets a chance to stay at the NHL level.
