Question - Top Logo Color

How can I change the Cubs top screen to match the color of the White Sox top screen? See two attached screens.

I have trouble reading the text in the top area because of the contrast between white text on grey background.

Thanks,
Tim

On your team page, click the settings button. On that page, click Modify Team Colors, Logos and Textures (top right)

Top left - set Team Color to Black, Team Text Color to White.

Click "Ok" bottom right.

I already changed the team text and team text color to black and white. The top background color did not change at that time.

Here is the screen capture. Is the grey coming from the logo background? If yes, is there a way to get a different logo? I'm not a graphics person and have already spent more time editing colors in a baseball game than I wanted to do.

Thanks,
Tim

You have it set Team Color White, Text Black

Switch those.

Just curious, but which skin are you using?

I'm using OOTP17 default skin with the color changes shown. I had to change the colors so I could read the information in the players area which for the Cubs was red and blue with white text. Some of the worst color combinations for readability. I made changes based on suggestions in another thread to the white/black that worked well except the top area became unreadable.

I've attached an image with the change you suggested. Unfortunately, the black in the bottom area is hard to read. I want black text on white background, the standard for most applications for easy to read text.

Is there an option to change the text at the top of the screen to black from white? That would make the contrast acceptable and the grey background can stay.

Any ideas?

Thanks for you assistance.
Tim

No, the game uses the team color for the top area and usually selects the best font color (black or white) depending on the background. You cannot manually change this.

Markus,

Thanks. I love the quick response your team provides and the willingness to discuss items. I understand some items are locked down and may not change now. But I'm hoping to provide ideas for the next version to make things more customizable so everyone can set layout colors to satisfy their needs.

I'm going to go through the other team colors and see if I can find a useable color combination that will work for me. The not-so-fun part will be making the change for every team in my league so when I visit their teams to scout talent or just observe, I will be able to read the text.

I'm also tying to get used to using the new layout for the upcoming schedule area but with the contrast in colors and vertical format, I find my self constantly clicking the wrong text line. Is it possible to add a line between each row in the schedule area to separate the text a little more visually?

Tim

Have you tried going to
"File"
"Settings"
"Use Team Text Color" set to "No, optimized readability"?

This was also a question I posted in another thread. I have removed the baseball game background for a solid color. As you can see the colors to not match. It's almost as there is a dark filter between the two?

Make info_bar.png and top_bar.png transparent. (both are in /images in the skin folder)
Those two are colored in the teams color by the engine and are overlayed on the top_background.png

Do you mean the location shown in the image?

The three folders in /skins only contain these two files in each of the three skin type folders. One is shown in the image. I cannot find any image files with the name you provided. I was able to find them in this location in OOTP16 folder structure.

Thanks,
Tim

You have to download the Skin Files via Addon Central first ..than you can edit the files ...delete the skin.bin file and let OOTP rebuild a new one ...thats it

I did not know that. I was expecting them to be delivered with the new version of the game, not as an addon that was already available on day one of the published beta version. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Should the skin files appear in the folders at this location?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 17\data\skins.

I downloaded through addon central, install the files as indicated but no file ever appear in the three folders in the folder above. I tried deleting the skin.bin file first and that resulted in an error loading the game.

Thanks,
Tim

Whenever OOTP rebuilds a skin file you will get the "OOTP Not Responding" message while it does its thing. Give it a couple minutes, it will complete.
