Hate to be that guy ...

BUT ...

I recently downloaded and unzipped Cheech's 1900-2016 player photos to use in OOTP17. I've been trying for a week to follow the scattered scraps of instructions for getting them imported into the game, but I've had no luck.

I use a Mac computer for my games. The problem is, I'm kind of new at importing pics (I've never done it before) and I can't find a thread that gives me step by step instructions on how to import and use the pictures on a Mac.

Steps I've taken so far:

* I downloaded and unzipped the photos, then moved them into the Photos folder under "Default Data" in my OOTP folder system. That was what I thought I was supposed to do. But the photos aren't showing up anywhere so I'm missing a step somewhere.

Can anyone out there help a brother out?

don't know about Cheech's photos. But in Add-Ons Central, there are two historical photo packs that the mods have made specifically for OOTP. One is "complete Historical & Modern Photo Face Pack". All you need do to make them work is first download them (i just let them go into the default folder.) and then a pop up will appear and tell if the download was successful and then you to "Install" them. Do that from the same add-ons page by simply clicking the install button, and you should have the photos whenever you go back to your game. Hope this helps. Not exactly an answer to your problem, but it's an alternative to getting the pics if no one can help you with the Cheech files.

Extract them into your Documents > Out of the Park Developments > OOTP Baseball 17 folder in the event that there is a folder labeled "photos" in that zip file. If it's just all the photos and they're not contained in a folder within the zip file extract them to your Documents > Out of the Park Developments > OOTP Baseball 17 > photos folder. Ask further questions if you need help.

I do know what you're talking about. The problem is that the Add-Ons Central menu for Mac users is much more limited. In fact, my only "Add-Ons" choices there are 3 different packages of skins and something called "The Nickname Project," and I don't even know what that is. There is no player pictures option in OOTP17 for Mac users, it seems.

Thank you for your input anyway.

As far as I can tell, that's what I've done, except the names of the folders are slightly different. For example, there is no "photos folder" but there is a folder called "pictures," and that's where I dragged the downloaded folder of pictures to.

I also made sure I directed game settings to "look for player pictures first" and turned off the automatic faceGen option.

But still no luck. Nothing's changing. I am either missing a step, or importing actual player photos is something that Mac users just are not able to do. I don't think it's the latter — but I don't know a Mac user who actually uses player photos, either.

There should be a "photos" folder in your Documents > Out of the Park Developments > OOTP Baseball 17 folder. I have one just above my "pictures" folder. Then again I am a PC user. If there isn't one, try creating a folder named "photos" and extract them into there. The game imports them specifically from the "photos" folder. The "pictures" folder is something else entirely. I'm not sure what it's for.
