"player is upset the team has no manager"

Well, as the manager of that team I'm a little offended.

If I am the manager of a minor league team and I set the strategy and the rosters and the pitching staff and address it on a day-to-day basis but I sim the games, am I not managing?

I got that in OOTP16 just the other night. I was GM&Mgr for a major league team.

Is there somebody who occupies the manager's spot on that team's personnel page, or is it empty? If it's empty, then the team doesn't have a manager, even if you run everything yourself.

Well, that's pretty glitchy, then. If I'm GM & Mgr, I should be recognized as the Mgr.

I'd call this a bug, personally. If you're managing at the major league level then the bench coach has an effect, but missed the case of managing at the farm, where this shouldn't apply.

I was the manager of Miami's AA team and I could see myself and my reputation in Miami's front office personnel page

If you're playing a minor league, YOU are the manager. As I said, this was a bug that will be fixed for the main release Tuesday.

For what it's worth, when this happened to me in 16, I was GM and Mgr for a major league team in 1872. Out of the box settings.
