I hope owner profiles are fixed for ootp17

There's no way that Fred Wilpon is "generous" and there are other owner profiles that do not match their real world spending habits.

I believe that owner attributes are random, and that will probably be true in 17 as well. You can always edit your owner's attributes in a way that more closely resembles reality.

Exactly....we don't set that. That's what the Edit tab is for.

Why is that though? Wouldn't it be more realistic if the owners' traits in game were closer to real life rather than random?

I've been modding in the historical owners to my 1920s league and then researching their ownership styles to adjust the traits to make it more realistic (rather than the many Dominican, Cuban or African owners the game picked for 1919 MLB??), which is kind of educational and fun to do, but I sort of wish that was already in the game or available as a mod.

As much as I love, LOVE to absolutely destroy and villify ownership... they put their (heavily leveraged and not their own) money where their (two faced snot nosed lying) mouths are.

IDK what you'd call it if not generous. Average? Middle of the road? Penny pincher?

I don't believe that its random from game to game. In every online league or offline game, the owner profiles are always the same if you start at the same year. I've never seen randomness at the beginning. Maybe over time they change. There are some profiles that are correct like the marlins, but there are also too many that are just wrong and not realistic. You can't edit owner profiles in online leagues unless you're the commish.

Well for one thing, you never mentioned online leagues in your initial post or we wouldn't have mentioned the edit tab most likely..
Secondly, settings like these are highly opinionated.. and there's an old saying about opinions:
They're like buttholes...everyone has one and they all stink..

Bottom line is that we roster guys can't specifically set that as it's not one of our options.

But honestly something so minor just edit it yourself. I rather then use their time to truly get the hoarding thing under control. I just had the Dodgers sign 2 all-star shortstops in the off season when they have already have one. I had to manually remove them off the team
