What's the best Baseball Annual?
I've traditionally bought Baseball Prosopectus every year, but in the last couple years my interest has increasingly been drawn to minor leagues, and I'm eyeing some of the other books on the market.
I don't have the money to go "all of the above," so I'd like some thoughts from people who have bought any of these, this year or in the past: Baseball America's Prospect Handbook Baseball HQ's Minor League Baseball Analyst John Sickel's book |

For me John Sickels is the best.
He's a very astute analyst with a long track record. He does a great job of mixing sabermetrics and traditional scouting and is a lot more realistic about player's likely outcomes than many prospect analysts who get overly enthusiastic imo. Plus he is very down to earth and readable and is just a nice guy and runs a great free site as well and is happy to chat on his site if you have anything to ask him. |
