Coaching Changes

Is it just me or do coaches get fired waaaaay too often in this game?

I mean, I know we just had Columbus fire their coach 7 games in and hire Tortz but there always seems to be at least 3-4 coach firings early in the season even if a team is in playoff contention. Definitely think this is something that needs to be looked at. The Capitals were in playoff contention, though maybe not doing quite as well as expected, and fired Barry Trotz despite his having 3 years left on his deal and only being in his 2nd season (still in 2015-16).

I haven't seen this, but I haven't simmed as many current NHL seasons, yet.

I haven't even gotten through a full season in either my fictional league or my NHL league and I've already seen multiple coaching changes. There was a team who was 2nd in their conference and won 4 of their last 5 games before a report about rumors of that coach being fired for a recent losing skid came out. Definitely not realistic.

I agree. Coaching changes seem too often. Too many times it seems that teams with good records are firing their coaches. There are only so many create reasons I can come up with in my mind to justify these firings. To me, it doesn't seem like this area of the game changed at all from FHM2014.

There is a known problem with firings happening at inappropriate times in some non-NHL and fictional leagues, we're investigating it. NHL firings, though, appear to be working reasonably well; it may occasionally require looking a little deeper to find the exact reason why a coach who didn't appear to be doing to badly is let go, but there's usually a valid reason - season-to-season decline, lack of playoff success, etc.

my two cents in China.,...... I seem to find the talent/skills of the front office is too low... could making the coaches and GMs more skillful help the game play smarter?? Could it be that simple... I sort of feel it is .... I edit my coaches and GMs and overall, i think trades and other things work pretty decent.

In the regular game, they shouldn't be too bad. But I've noticed the fictional and historical staff ratings aren't too great, I think we need to do some work there.
