Question for roster builders

I want to create a roster file but not sure how to go about doing it. I would use the Lahman's database as a start and add to it. My question is do you add players to the Lahman file then export it? Or, with v5, do you create the players in excel and use the import csv function? If you use the Lahman's to create your database, which spreadsheets does the game use for importing?

I am sorry if there are tutorials for this somewhere. I did a search but could not find any.

In looking at some of the files floating around today, I say you different roster creaters have done an excellent job! I do not think what I want to do would be worthy of a public release (due to time to get it accurate that the public would demand) but I do want to work on one and add some things like guys who will be drafted in June to a set.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
