will trade offers when using this feature have more than one player included? few trades are 1 for 1 IRL
if not in 16 could this be considered for future editions? |

One of my fav ootp features.
I more use it as an idea what teams are offering then can click on a player to the Trade screen if i want to try and increase numbers in the deal. |

I'd like to be able to shop two at a time to see what's offered.

All the game will offer you is a 1-for-1 trade using the Shop Around feature. The best way to utilize it is to shop a player to see who's interested in him. If a team's offering a highly-rated player in exchange, even if it's someone you don't want, go into the trade screen and see if you can hash out a deal.

almost positive markus has shot this down multiple times (and even within the last month once on the ootp 16 announcement thread i think) because the amount of results you'd get is daunting.

What I do is use the shop player around feature and then see what comes up, I then scan the teams that offer and see if they truly are need of my player and start feeling around in their minors. If they truly need a firstbaseman, then I start digging. I do a lot of salary dumps this way.

I'd be happy if it stayed 1-for-1, but the AI offered more than just players on the 40-man roster.

Agree with that. I'd really like to see prospects offered once in a while.

It would be nice if other teams would offer multiple players, prospects, etc., but the AI would need a vastly improved trading algorithm. Otherwise, the human advantage would swell to absurd proportions.

I think something like the one on one offer is fine or add to it, by pulling up teams that need the player you offer.
Something like, Giants need a 3B, are willing to talk to you about Brooks Robinson, then open a trade window and see what it would take. |

It would also be interesting to have news stories in which "experts" comment on the subject, e. g., "Chicago sports radio host Joe Jones lamented today that the Cubs lack a solid closer, which the team's 'Win Now' philosophy urgently demands. 'The minor league system is stuffed with promising young hitters,' Jones noted on his popular morning talk show, 'but some of them are likely to stay in Triple-A or sit on the bench in the Bigs. They'd be a lot more valuable as trade bait." |

While it is true that you can always go to the negotiation screen to add players, I find it extremely easy to con GM's out of top notch prospects. Once a couple years ago, while managing the Reds, I had the Nat's GM ready to give up Bryce Harper AND Stephen Strasburg in return for Bronson Arroyo. I didn't make the trade for reality purposes (missed out on a rotation of Cueto, Strasburg, Latos, Bailey, and Leake), but there really is no middle ground with the trading AI, who is either extremely stingy or extremely generous. I love the minor league prospect development part of the game. I honestly lose interest in players once they make the major league team for two or three seasons, because I'm much more drawn to younger players and prospects. I'm ready to trade off 27 year old major league stars because I want to see what kind of return in trade (prospects) they might bring. My first two transactions in OOTP 16 most likely will be to shop Cueto and Votto for prospects. So yeah, I'd love to see a better way to shop veterans for a handful of prospects. |

I wish there were trades in OOTP like the Jeff Samardzija trade from last season. Good player gets some good prospects. I never see those in OOTP. For me teams are never willing to put in a good prospect (playing on hard trading) when I offer a good player with a couple of years left on a contract (even if he's not that expensive).
