Suggestion -- Offensive Line 'chemistry'
Very excited about this project. Would love to see a Football version of OOTP.
One suggestion that I have is that I believe getting the Offensive Line simulation correct is critical to the success of the game. Understanding what makes a good line vs a bad one is far more subtle than just individual ratings. Almost any other aspect of football can be broken down to individual ratings and ability, but not an offensive line's. An offensive line must work together as a unit. It would be nice if there is some sort of factor which determines whether linemen 'fit in' with each other as a unit. There may be an example to follow in terms of how OOTP decides the chemistry of the clubhouse based on the personalities of the players, I don't know. Football Outsiders publishes an almanac that discusses this phenomenon, as well as a lot of other intriguing stats and analyses about football. I hope you guys are consulting their stats, writeups and analyses. I also hope you incorporate a lot of the OOTP aspects to the game such as staff (Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, etc). Would be nice if those staff have attributes that affect the players and the team. |

I agree the cohesiveness of the offensive line should be incorporated. The best offensive lines in the NFL are those that really gel together as a unit!
