well...the Phillies suck in both of our dynasties. I simmed up to 2025, played out games for 2 years and started a dynasty from there. I assume you'll manage the Reds?

Up until 2028 the AL and NL have been going back and forth. 2029 Angels first time AL won 2 in a row.

Wish there was a way we could take a team and play against each other.

The Phillies could have a good future in my dynasty, considering they have 4 guys ages 25 or under who are 5 stars overall. I will manage the Reds, who have only made the playoffs twice between the years of 2015 and 2029.

Wow....in mine the Reds won a ring and are average at this point. Ford is 24 and is their star. Phillies can't gather anything anymore.

Roster

Starters:
1. Makoto Takata, Japan, 32, L
A 4.5 star pitcher who won the Cy Young Award in 2028 and was an all-star in 2029. I might decide to trade him due to him having a ~24 million dollar contract for one year.
2. Jon Moscot, USA, 38, R
A 4 star pitcher who is way too old. It will be hard to trade him, due to his age, but he will definitely have to be replaced. He will earn ~15 million dollars per year for the next two years.
3. Jeff Castle, USA, 32, R
A 3.5 star pitcher who will earn 4.6 million dollars over the next year. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2022, but has not done very good since.
4. Nick Travieso, USA, 36, R
A 3.5 star pitcher who will earn 4.33 million dollars over the next year. He is a two-time all-star but had a bad season in 2029. Will be traded if possible.
5. Barrett Astin, USA, 38, R
A 2.5 star pitcher who will earn 6.4 million dollars over the next year. He has not had a season with an era below 3.0 since his rookie season.

Middle Reliever:
1. José Pérez, Argentina, 30, R
A 1.5 star pitcher who will earn 5.4 million over the next year. He has not had any good seasons and wants to be a starter. Will try to trade him, but if not he will become a free agent and I will not resign him.
2. António Romero, Chile, 27, R
A 1.5 star pitcher who will earn 5.2 million dollars over the next year. He is not very good and will not get any better.
3. Michel Fortin, Canada, 31, R
A 1 star pitcher who has had no good seasons. He will earn 4.6 million dollars over the next year.
4. George Harper, USA, 30, R
A 1 star pitcher who is on a minor league contract.

Setup:
1. Kyle Crockett, USA, 38, L
A 3.5 star pitcher who will earn 8.79 million dollars over the next year. He is good but is way too old.
2. Kelvin Herrera, Dominican Republic, 40, R
A 2.5 star pitcher who will earn ~9 million dollars per year for the next two years. He is kind of good but is 40 years old.

Closer:
1. Jacob Lindgren, USA, 36, Left
A 3.5 star pitcher who will earn 4.98 million dollars over the next year. A good pitcher, but he is very old and is likely going to be traded.

Catcher:
Tim Thompson, 25, S/R
A 4 star catcher who had a .311 batting average in 2029. He will earn 15 million dollars in the next year.

First Baseman:
Emílio Ramírez, 23, L/L
A 3.5 star first baseman who had a .317 batting average in 2029. He will earn 500,000 dollars in the next year. I would love to resign him.

Second Baseman:
Doug Summers, 25, R/R
A 4 star second baseman who had a .299 batting average in 2029. He will earn 8.8 million dollars over the next year.

Shortstop:
Harley Moran, 24, R/R
A 5 star shortstop who won the 2027 Gold Glove Award. He will earn 8 million dollars over the next year. I would absolutely love to resign him.

Third baseman:
Nathan Goodwin, 32, L/R
A 1 star third baseman who is awful besides his defense. He will earn ~1 million dollars in the next year. I will likely not resign him.

Left Field:
Don House, 31, R/R
A 5 star left fielder who has hit 286 home runs, won 5 gold glove awards, 2 mvp awards, and has been in the all-star game 6 times. He will earn 22.6 million dollars per year for 2 years.

Center Field:
Gilbert McDonald, 32, R/R
A 2.5 star center fielder who had a .289 batting average in 2029 and will earn ~8 million dollars per year for 2 years. I do not believe he is worth this much so I will likely trade him.

Right Field:
Magneuris Sierra, 33, L/L
A 1 star right fielder who had an awful 2029 season and will earn 2.2 million dollars in the next year. I will likely not resign him.

First Trade

I decided to trade 38 year old 5 star SP Jon Moscot to the Cubs for 27 year old 2.5 star SP Francisco Rivera and 28 year old 1 star (1.5 star potential) SP Michel Poitras. This deal was made because I know that Jon Moscot will be retiring within a few years and I needed some young talent.

Are you in rebuilding mode, win now, or just fighting for a spot?

Considering the fact that most of my good players are old, I guess I'm in rebuilding mode. I will be updating about my progress after every 30 games or whenever a big event happens.

I am currently 22-21 and am 4 games back in the division. I extended the contracts of Jeff Castle and Nick Travieso by 4 years each and Harley Moran's by one. I traded my 4.5 star 37 year old reliever Jacob Lindgren for the Padre's 4.5 star 32 year old reliever Manuel Martinez.

quick question: how much are you paying Travieso (per extension year)?

Might be a little much for a 36 y/o who you want to move. It'll be harder now for sure, Just my two cents.

I would resign Makota Takata, but he wants 24 million dollars a year, and I only have 33 million dollars left for extensions and I want to resign more than one guy.

This is why you follow future free agency pieces. Scout out other interesting pitchers with a year left and shortlist em.
