Can you mod regions?

I like the region feature during the league setup, but is there a way to add regions that are not on the list?

For example, maybe an all German speaking league, or two specific bordering countries?

you should be able to edit the world.xml file and add your own regions to it (haven't made any changes to the regions part myself, so can't give first-hand info). See this thread for a how-to on editing that file:

(as always, make a backup copy of your world.xml file before you tinker with it... just in case)
