Two Player Online League

This might be more suited in the Online Leagues folder, and if so, feel free to move this there mods.

I have a question that I have faith that this board can help me figure out:

So I finally convinced my roommate to buy OOTP 16, and we want to do a league between the two of us. Now I'm semi-computer savvy, but I haven't done any FTP file sharing for a long time, not since I ran a basketball sim, but things have changed a bit.

The easiest method would for me to use a pre-set service like allsimbaseball where it will do everything for me for $5 a month, but because it is just between the two of us, I do not want to pay anything, and I don't need any fancy service.

Last night I tried setting up a DropBox account where we would easily share the files. but I couldn't get it to work, either because he has a Pc and I have a Mac, or I just didn't do it correctly.

From talking to other commissioners from my online leagues, they suggested that I use DropBox and have my roommate put his team exports in there, and then I can import them.

First off, is there any easier way that people have used?

Secondly, if this is the best method, what/where are the files located that my roommate would need to put into the dropbox, where do I then put his file, and what do I do in the game that would upload?

Thank you for all the help in advance!!

I've done it before with my brother. I found a free FTP service online. I don't know how much you know about the FTP servers, but using filezilla I somehow figured it out. If you can make/connect to a server, you basically have to make two folders on the server. One is for where you upload the league file (you both upload and download from this), and then there's a folder for the team exports. In game, before every sim, you gotta remember to import the exports.

You have to open up the FTP settings and enter all your server information (paths, passwords, etc).

That's a really run down explanation of it, sorry haha.
