Injury severity/frequency correlation

I've heard it rumored on the forums that decreasing injury frequency actually increases injury severity. Has this ever been officially confirmed or denied?

In a related question, does the injury frequency look at the total pool of every player in the game, or purely at the major league level? I'm trying to separate white statistical noise from meaningful information.

To the first question, No. It does not increase injury severity. The injuries are purely random based on the frequency setting and injury proneness of the player.

For the related question, the frequency was modeled after current-day MLB injury frequency. So it would be based on the MLB stats in real life. I suppose the minor leagues would follow similar frequency settings.
