Game freezing when creating league?

Hey all, I'm new to this game. Just purchased it the other day. I'm attempting to set up my own fictional league and the last two times i've tried, it freezes on me. Both times happened when i would be editing the minor league team names for my league, it just freezes as i'm typing the name. If i just skip straight through the names or start into the MLB league it works just fine no problems. But for some reason when I'm editing minor league names it locks up and i have to end task just to get it to close. I even let it sit for a half hour or so in hopes that it would work again, but no luck. I haven't tried again since, but will be here after a bit. Just wondering if theres anything causing this or just bad luck? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know why its freezing up on you...
A workaround, you just accept the names the game gives you during the setup and then after you have the setup completed and start the game then go into the League Option, Game Settings, League and Teams tab and edit the names there...

I'm having a freezing problem, too. I was trying to follow the instructions in another thread on how to create a fictional league with real players, which basically amounted to create the real MLB league, create the fictional league, delete all the players from the fictional league, then delete the MLB league so the real players would be all there and could be drafted by the fictional league.

But when I go into custom game and select MLB as the real world league I want in my game it crashes as soon as I hit "next step".

I got it to work this time. I turned off the shader option on facegen under settings and set the OOTP skin back to default. I saw in a thread someone suggesting these things and so far it's worked. It at least allowed me to fully create my league, which took hours, and get it started and be able to save it as a template and QuickStart. Not sure if it was luck that it worked or me changing the settings, but I won't complain either way.
