Playoff Rosters Blank! Help!!

I play in Commisioner mode only (no control of any team). I just advanced to the playoffs and noticed that the teams had no designated starting pitcher for game 1. I tried to sim the games anyway and it said that one of the teams had an illegal number of players on their roster (zero!). I then saw that ALL of the playoff teams had nobody on their playoff roster.

After doing some reading, someone a while back said to turn off playoff roster rules to fix this. I did, but when I played the first game, the teams had very odd choices for game 1 starters in many positions.

Has anyone else come across this in OOTP 16?

I went back to my backup, kept playoff roster rules enabled, and noticed that no players were considered eligible for the playoff roster. Any ideas as to why???

If I try to manually add a player to the playoff roster, it says the player is ineligible (he should be) or the roster is full (which it isn't).

Looking at the rules of my league, I changed the expanded roster size from 30 (which is probably unusual and maybe never tested by the developers) to disabled. With this change there is no playoff rosters option at all (not sure why that would be), but it seems to choose the "right" pitchers to open a playoff series. I think i'm going to go with this for now.

I had something similar with an older patch. I just disabled playoff rosters and it worked fine. But, I'm not too fussy about playoff rosters as a concept, so that was an easy choice for me.
