INJURY - Diagnosis not yet known

I just had Phil Hughes injured in his second start and I have no idea what the injury is. He came out after 1.2 IP and I have advanced 2 days and still have no ideas what the injury and prognosis is. In today's game, they would know exactly what is wrong with him by the end of the night would they not? Seems like this should be updated as the type of injury is known much more easily these days...

Found out on Day 3 following the injury that it is a ruptured biceps tendon. Again, that is an injury that would be known pretty early I think. Thoughts?

I disagree. Some players come out of games with a "feared" Tommy John injury, but usually don't get confirmed till an MRI a couple days later

Markus said in the impressions thread earlier today that he'll look into adding some basic info, like body part, to the delayed diagnosis info. I think that would be a big step and I don't see anything wrong with having to wait a couple days for the full diagnosis. However, I have seen instances in 15 where it took 5-6 days to get the diagnosis for things like a broken finger, which just isn't realistic at all.

Interesting to me that it turned out to be a ruptured Biceps Tendon. I follow NHL hockey, and my team, the Calgary Flames, just lost their captain for the season following this injury. The interesting part of it all is that when he was injured, at the end of a game, there was no firm update on what happened to him for almost 5 days. Apparently they had to wait for the inflamation to die down a little before the MRIs could properly pick up the injury. So in some cases, it can take a few days, no doubt.

It would be neat though if the game gave you some general idea of what happened, at least internally for your team. "Player has damaged his right arm, final prognosis pending" type of thing...

Delayed diagnosis is switchable. I turn it off in the playoffs as that can have catastrophic effects.

I just had the best pitcher in my league who was in the process of winning his 3rd cy young and was 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA go down in game 4 of the world series...I don't control the team, but he's out 8 months. Brutal.

For the record, it's the third option down on the left under the Players & Facegen tab in the game options.

Injuries are not necessarily known that quick. Maybe the team wanted to get a 2nd opinion on the treatment and prognosis.

I like the variety of delays. It's very realistic.
When Markus adds a little more detail to the injury it will be even better.
