Who would you pick?

I need pitching. I have a young star at first hes 24 and i have him for the next 6 seasons but I also have a 5 star potential stud in the minors that i was willing to shop around and i did i got 4 pitchers that i might take, but the question is who? some are young some are older. But who ever I get i want to be able to give them a 3-5 year extension, at least thats my goal.

Who do you feel would be best?

His WAR over his last 26 starts is as good as anyone there, he is 23 with promising stuff (unlike the 21 year old) and has the best long term value as he is still growing. Choice 1 looks to be in heavy decline with his stuff which may become unstartable quickly. Choice 4 would be a decent short termer in my eyes.

just my take if i were making the trade.

I like the stats best on the "Diva" --he's still pretty young, nice k/9 (though hard to know what's a good k/9 overall for your league), and BABIP isn't out of line. Some of the others are getting abnormal help from their defense, I think, and a spot or two of luck.

How do I check what leagues settings are and could someone post what a current MLB looks now for pitching, hitting and fielding? So I can compare

Just go to league history and for the current season click LMP or whatever league you want to check and go to the team pitching stats to see league averages

Melchizedek looks like the choice of wise men. He's young, impresses the scouts and has been improving steadily. He's also much less expensive than Heard or Cockmen, both of whom are, I think, too old to be counted on for three to five years of good pitching.

De La Rosa is a possibility. His strong positive is a better work ethic than Melchizedek's. His negative is that the scouts like him quite a bit less. Without knowing more about your leagues, it's hard to compare the two men's stats.

If you want to win now, and money is an issue, you would take the 23 year old. I would think you might take him even if money weren't an issue.

Leaning with the Diva then. But won't be home from work for another 6 hours I have to think. But it is raining today I can't work much in the rain I'll likely be home sooner and play. I tell ya I have dreams about this game it's like a drug. I love it

Oh just to give a clue if you look at Heards totals for last season he was 4th in the league in wins, 3rd in strikeouts and 9th in ERA

Never use wins as a means of measuring a pitcher's ability.

A good reason to not let the computer pick "Best Pitcher" I might add.
