Associations and Drafts. What am I missing?
Did a search on this, and while there is plenty out there on Associations, I can't find anything on these particular issues.
I have 26 teams in 2 leagues that I want to have shared drafts (amateur and FA). For the amateur draft each June, I want the draft to be 2 rounds of 26 picks each. The 26 picks per round has been working, but I cannot get the draft to be less than 5 rounds. I have it set to that in the Association screen and both leagues individual rules tab. I found a workaround; a way to stop the draft after 2 rounds have been completed, but it would be much easier if I could just get it to be set for 2 rounds, and I won't have to worry about potentially messing up the universe by forgetting all the steps of the workaround every year. The second issue pertains to the FA draft in an Association. I have non-affiliated minors, and at a certain time each off-season I release the best players from them and hold a FA draft for the majors. Though the FA's are of course available to both leagues in the Association, it seems there is no way to do an Association wide FA draft, at least in a straightforward manner. Whatever league I select determines the number of picks per round and, initially, what teams are participating. I can select teams from both leagues by manually setting the order every round, but again this is tedious. For both types of drafts I just want to have every team in the Association picking every round for the number of rounds I specify. Anyone ran into any of these Association-related issues prior and know of anything to eliminate these time consuming measures I've resorted to? |

In my EBL vs MLB league the MLB and CBF share a 10 round draft. I have never tried a draft less then 5 rounds. What happens when you set the draft to 2 rounds? Seems like you would run out of players quicker with less then 5 rounds.

Only 2 rounds works for me, since each team has only 15 active and 15 reserve players. I've been using that setup for almost 50 seasons, and haven't had any problems. The average major league team signs an undrafted FA or two as well. I also have the FA Draft which serves to move players from my independent minors to the majors. |
