Cheap long-term contracts?
I've noticed this since I think 2 or 3 patches ago, but I hadn't played enough until lately for me to notice it's becoming kind of a problem.
I'm playing the standard MLB quickstart, and some mediocre to average free agents are signing long term deals for very little money, probably almost 10 an offseason. The latest example is Hector Santiago, a pitcher with ERA+s of 102, 93, and 106 the past 3 seasons, and ratings to match being average. Well, he just signed a 5 year deal for $950,000 a year. 2 seasons ago, Russell Martin signed a 6 year deal averaging just over $6,000,000 a year. There are plenty of these examples, and I'm also wondering if anybody else has run into this? I am usually just editing the contracts to 1 or 2 year deals, but I'd rather not have to at all. |

It happened in my league, too.
In the year 2019, Perfectly healthy Mike Trout signed a $10M extension just before current contract expired! I was so shocked I even opened editor and looked his abilities, all of which were over 160. (btw his greed is VERY HIGH) 25STU/16MOV/14CON Matt Moore signed 20M/3y contract. (my financial setting is 25M for superstar, 20M for star, 15M for good players) I feel that something is wrong here. |

Yeah I've seen some whoppers, Matt Harvey came off a Cy Young and signed a 10 year/10 mill a year extension.

Speaking of other weird signings, I recently seen a player who was a 2 star minor league FA (played up to AA ball) signed a multi year contract worth 89 mil... |

What? Mike Trout just signed a 7 year - 33.5million a year contract! How do I lower mine, because free agents are quite ridiculous. (Although this is actually a steal of a price for a guy like Trout) But seriously, guys who should be 10million in a real-life market are getting 25m+ in mine.

Never seen it. May be specific to certain league types.

This is happening to me on the MLB quickstart too. Even with the player personality system on or off, Price and Lester always seem to sign 1-yr deals that make absolutely no sense from a player's perspective, great for the Rays and Sox though. Price signed a 1/10 deal and Lester signed a similar one.
