International FA Confusion

Question 1: I'm not sure if I understand how the bidding wars work with the International FA's. It seems that when I bid for a player, usually a top tier player, I keep getting outbid by a different team each time. I've had situations where I've been outbid 5 or 6 different times by different a different team each time. But when I look at some of the other players that have similar or better ratings they seem to get the player for just under what the player is asking or right at. ???

Question 2: I had another situation where I had outbid another team for a top 5 International Prospect by $250,000 but the player signed with the team that I outbid. Don't understand why they would do that.

Please shed some light on what I'm missing? TIA

1. My guess is that the auction effect is at play. It's easy to outbid by a small margin. Those small out bids add up quickly.

2. No idea. perhaps you had no room in your Int Complex? Maybe they just liked the other team better
