No Human Manager League?

I love playing the role of a commissioner and watching my league and players evolve over time. Is there a way with OOTP 15 to have a 'no-human manager' league so that I can set up the league and purely just watch the games and obsess over stats? :-)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine the best way to go about this is to start a new game as "unemployed" and enable commissioner mode.

Play in commish mode and don't take over a team. Easy as that.
