Waiver Carziness
I'm not sure why but I'm having a TON of waiver activity in my 1993 (now in 94) historical. Currently there are 62 players on waivers and there have been 29 "waiver picks" in the past 3 days. Every day my transaction news (on league homepage) is filled with waiver picks. Any ideas on why this is and how to combat it?

First thing to do is check roster limits. Any in place? If they can't go somewhere, they'll go to the wire. Also, what part of the season are you in? Are they taking players off the 40man?

The settings are standard for 1994. It may have increased near September but I had been noticing it most of the year

Check your minor league roster limits.
Are they being sent back down after September call ups?

In a reserve roster league I see many many fringe players get signed and released 4x a week by various teams. it's weird and surely is slowing down game speed

I looked and it was all throughout the year. There is no limit on roster size at AAA (my only minor league)

You only have one minor league?

Yes a historical league. So Instead of just having a reserve roster with the excess players I tried to just create AAA to house them.

Short answer, it's an unusual league configuration and probably the cause of what you're seeing.

Why does it have to be the game? When you do different configs different things will happen.

Sounds to me like you are using the AAA league and the 40 man. Since you have no bottom limit it will keep trying to improve the team. Guy comes in, gets added to the 40, and someone has to be waived.

So u can't have minors unless it's a full minor league system? And why are there so many created free agents if I'm importing historical players for the draft. I would think it would only create enough to fill the rosters not populate an entire minor league system

You could always turn off waivers. That's another custom option.

True. But that really doesn't follow what my goal for the league was. I wanted to keep the real life rules but add revenue sharing and a hard cap. I didn't realize the game would overpopulate the world with fictional players especially since I blocked them from making the show.
I guess I'm frustrated that the game can't handle this type of league without a great deal of testing and tweaking before hand. I would have thought the game would see A. Players blocked from making majors and B. One level of minors and then create just enough players to fill the teams. I figured they would function just like ghost players but have names. ![]() And before someone says it, I realize there are hundreds of different ways to configure league and not all can be accounted for up front. However, some seemingly simple if this or this is present than do this could eliminate some of these instances. Or at least add an option to dictate how the fictional players will generate without having to adjust all of the creation modifiers (again more testing)
