Question Opinions Wanted - OOTP5 vs. OOTP4

I'm in my third year of OOTP4 using fictional players and am really enjoying it. I'd like your opinions on whether OOTP5 is much better than OOTP4 and if so, why? I've read some posts that 5 is much slower. Thanks!

I think 5 is much better mainly because the player development curve is more realistic. My computer is fairly quick (1.5 GHZ, 256 meg RAM), so I don't have any speed issues.

But.... I loved 4, too. The upgrade is worth it, but it's not a matter of life and death. We had guys posting here a week or so ago talking about how they weren't going to eat so they could buy 5.

Bottom line - get 5 when you can. I can't answer any computer speed issues though.

I have an 733mhz 256meg PC and only notice a very slight difference in speed.

BTW, my configuration runs the game well.

If you like using fictional players, OOTP5 is a must. As previously stated, the difference in players and the developmental curve is vastly improved over OOTP4.

As to speed issues, runs fine on two machines of mine, the slowest being a P-II 500 w/128MB RAM. I disable all sound though, because it tends to slow down the play-by-play a good deal (I normally do PbP using the Very Fast speed).

I think the new player algorithms make it a must buy. There are also some other great features like the new interface, almanac etc...

I think 5 is a vast upgrade to 4. I'd recommend it if you are a a fan of baseball or a fan of text sims.

It's an improvement, nothing night and day. If you enjoyed v4 definately pick up v5. But like an earlier poster said, don't sell any of your children for it.
