Deaths...

I have just finished the 2015 season. During 2014 & 15, four team owners died. Each handed day to day operations over to a son. These teams seem to later wind up firing a Manager or GM.

Is this usual, or am I in the Major League Baseball Twilight Zone?

I sense a disturbance in the force.

There was someone else who posted about like eight owners dying in his first season. Through two and a half seasons, I think only one owner has died in my game, so it could just be a fluky thing.

The Grim Reaper is actually just acting out. Since death has not been implemented for retired players, The Reaper takes what He gets. That means owners take it in the neck.

Some OOTP players would like death implemented for players, as to increase realism. They would like to note and to mourn the passing of legends. Some OOTP players want to keep death out, as they enjoy playing OOTP as their personal escape and don't want certain cruel elements like death to visit their baseball world.

For owners it could be useful so your not stuck with the same owner. Im not sure about players.
I dont really look at Ty Cobb's stats in 1961 and remember he died that year. Might be different for fictional leagues.

At the risk of sounding ghoulish, I try to trade with these teams immediately after the son takes over. However, they are dying off too fast.

As for including players, one of the saddest days of my life was the day Mickey Mantle died. Including retired players would be a touch of realism I think.

I would like to see deaths in game for older players, coaches and owners. This does not need to be implemented with out an option to use. Please make this an option. For those of use that plwy 100+ seasons this would be a good option to have.

I think it would be awesome for immersion. Plus, this topic and the response I am typing remind me of my online poker that got dead.

"Just turn the DOOMSWITCH off!!!"
