Dynasty: Connor McDavid
**Just to state that I am having a very hard time still in running a team day to day, I'm just having a hard time getting into the game so I have decided to just sit back and simulate following what should be the next big thing, Connor McDavid.**
Connor McDavid (born January 13, 1997) is a Canadian major junior ice hockey player for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). A centre, McDavid was selected first overall in the 2012 OHL Entry Draft. Prior to the draft he was granted Exceptional Player status, only the third player given that status since its creation in 2005. He was awarded the Emms Family Award as the best first-year player in the OHL for the 2012–13 OHL season. McDavid will be eligible for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. McDavid played minor hockey with the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). In 2011–12 he recorded 33 goals and 39 assists for 72 points in 33 games, and was named the GTHL Player of the Year.[1] Because of his high level of play, he was granted Exceptional Player status by Hockey Canada and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and was allowed to be selected in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection at age 15, a year earlier than other players.[2] He was the third player given that status since its creation in 2005; John Tavares was granted it in 2005, followed by Aaron Ekblad in 2011.[1] McDavid was selected first overall by the Erie Otters at the Priority Selection.[3] As the first overall selection, McDavid was awarded the Jack Ferguson Award, which is given to the first pick of the OHL Priority Selection.[4] Starting in his second game of the season, McDavid recorded a point in fifteen consecutive games, and was named the OHL Rookie of the Month for both October and November.[5] During a game against the Owen Sound Attack on March 9, 2013, McDavid recorded two assists, giving him 37 for the season and setting a new team record for assists by a rookie. He also tied Tim Connolly for most points by a first-year player with 62.[6] In the team's final game of the season, March 16 against the Guelph Storm, McDavid recorded four assists, giving him 66 total points during the season and passing Connolly for the most points by an Otters rookie.[7] McDavid finished the season with the most assists by an OHL rookie with 41 and second in scoring for first year players with 66 points.[8] In recognition of his play, McDavid was awarded the Emms Family Award as the top rookie in the OHL and named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team.[5] Dallas Stars's general manager at the time Jim Nill said of McDavid that, "Well, he's a franchise player. Somebody is going to draft him and he's going to be the cornerstone of the franchise for 15 years, for 20 years. Those players only come along so often." This next season, McDavid will be leading the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. (I will be posting month to month in the gameand should get through seasons reasonably quick) Last edited by tcblcommish; 03-26-2014 at 12:00 AM. |

The 12-3 Erie Otters are ripping up the OHL and Connor McDavid started a little slow but started to pick it up later in the month. In 14 games, he has 14 points, 5 goals and a plus 1. Was expecting a little more from the wonderkid but things could change.

McDavid was pretty steady for the 2nd month, picking up 3 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. Unfortunately, Connor suffered a cut hand and had to miss a couple of weeks.
He is back and at full strength to continue his season heading into the draft. |

Seems like McDavid isn't producing like a generational talent! I'll keep reading, perhaps Connor will go on a second half tear.

Sadly, the McDavid express has slowed down by injuries again. He now has a 4 week injury, a strained quad and has been slowed by this quite a bit.
Scoring wise, he is now 3rd on his team with 26 points in 24 games and has 10 goals. When he plays, he is playing well but he is hurt an awful lot so far! |

Another month and another decent but not great month for McDavid. 36 games now for Connor, 15 goals and 25 assists. He is terrible on th draw this season, 19% is by far not good enough for a star center, certainly not a 1st line one and his shooting percentage is a little low too at 11%.
He started the season as a 6.5 prospect and an 11 potential but has dropped to 6.0 but remains an 11.0. Hope fully things start to go for McDavid. The draft is getting closer and closer. |

February
February was a solid month for McDavid as he moved into 3rd place in scoring for the OHL with his 19 goals and 40 assists. He now has 59 points in 48 games.
His Erie Otters are dominating the OHL, at 45-12-2 and running away with the division. |

March, Before playoffs
Connor McDavid finished 7th in scoring with his 66 points and 23 goals in his 55 games. He finished tied with line mate Connor Brown for the team lead but Brown played 67 games.
Erie Finished 1st overall in the OHL and are the heavy favorites to represent the "O" in the Memorial Cup. |

Round 1
McDavid was average at best in the first round, picking up 2 goals and 2 assists in the 5 games it took the Otters to take out the Attack from Owen Sound.

What's happened to this? Did McJesus have a career ending injury? I'm curious to see how his development plays out

Oh gotcha, nice! Enjoy the mini-holiday, I look forward to the updates
![]() Also, would be very interested in seeing multiple 30-year simulations as an observer so we can get an idea of the variation in the development arc of a prospect like that. Would be a cool way to have a live example of what the simulation engine is capable of in terms of realistic variety. |

2nd Round
McDavid helped lead his team to a very easy series against the Greyhounds in a 4-1 win. Connnor had 6 points, 3g 3a in the 5 games and looked a lot better however, Andre Burakovsky is stealing the Otters headlines for the playoffs.

3rd round
The Otters lost out to a very good Guelph Storm team in 7 games and Connor McDavid only managed to score 1 goal. He did manage to pick up 6 assists in the 7 games but not nearly good enough. Next up will be the off season for the youngster and should come back much stronger.

Pre McDavid Draft
Here is the top 10 picks from the draft that just happened in the NHL. McDavid is the next season so he is not in this one and will be trying to lead his Otters to another playoff birth and hopefully a spot in the Memorial Cup.
1) Sam Reinhart (Buffalo Sabres) 2) Sam Bennett (Calgary Flames) 3) William Nylander (Colorado Avalanche) 4) Nick Ritchie (New Jersey Devils) 5) Aaron Ekblad (Florida Panthers) 6) Michael Dal Colle (Montreal Canadiens) 7) Jake Virtanen (Winnipeg Jets) 8) Adrian Kempe (Philadelphia Flyers) 9) Jack Glover (Arizona Coyotes) 10) Haydn Fleury (Washington Capitals) Only Ray Pigozzi was drafted this season from the Erie Otters in the 4th round to the Dallas Stars. An average winger at best but could be a decent 4th liner. |

Just an update, I will be going season sim this season at least because to be honest, I donèt really care too much what he does in the OHL so I want to see him drafted.
