Free Agents: My budget vs AI budget
I posted this to the OOTP14 Bug Thread back in August. Wanted to see if this is truly a bug and if it hopefully gets addressed this year:
I just got to the offseason in my OOTP14 league. Players just filed for free agency and my owner set the budget. According to the financial screen, I have 1.4 million for free agents next year, and 10.1 million in year 2. I transferred control of signings to the AI just to see what kind of free agents they decided to go after. The first offer they made was to a stud Starting Pitcher who wants 15 million a year. The guy responded "liked offer but better offer was received". Now, what happened to 1.4 million available for next year? How was the AI able to offer a 15 million dollar a year contract for 5 years? I took control back and tried to modify the offer down to 10 million a year, and I got my hand slapped saying "the owner does NOT approve this deal!" So he approved a 15 million dollar a year deal yesterday, but not a 10 million dollar a year deal today? Something is fishy here. Has anyone else seen strangeness like this? |

The AI can go over budget. I think it's to try and level the playing field.
