Importing Managers

I searched around for an answer in a previous thread, but didn't find anything. I'm just wondering if you can import historical managers into the game.

I found a bunch of threads but I think they all add up to no, there is no direct way of importing historical managers. The closest thing to it would be the capability of exporting and importing team strategy settings as shown below - players use that to transfer them from team to team and game to game. It appears people edit historical managers manually and guess as to their strategy settings.

I've manually created them in the past. It doesn't take long, but knowing they are in the game in historical play I figured you might could import them from whichever file and put them in with the unemployed coaches for whatever league you have set up.

I always just import them as players retire them then turn them into coaches, obviously that doesn't work with MGRs who never played in the majors.

Sort of...

If you start in 1960 and want COnnie Mack's managerial record? No, that cannot happen

But you want Gil Hodges as a manager? Click the magnifying glass top right, search for Hodges.

Click on his retired player profile, options, turn into coach.

He will now be in the available personnel area as a Bench Coach, why? No idea
Click on his manager profile change his strategy tendencies (they don't work) if you like
change his ratings (I have found there is very very little difference between a 1 and 250 except for pay demands)
and make him a manager
