New Fan!!

Hi there!!

I love OOTP 12, 13 so it was only related to my personal life going haywire for me to have just gotten the game now.

What should I look for? What do I need to download? Looking for a realistic as possible scenario...

Thanks!!
Rene

What type of league do you play?
browse ootpmods.com for files you may like.
Find posts by Reds1 for his 1970-2013 jerseys. see attachment.
Look for No Pepper/Ashante Warrior 1901-1969 uniforms.
Gambo or Pstricket .PRK files that have accurate dimensions and factors by year and for hard to find parks.
JRP has some great stadiums.
Gambo plain logos Justafan Simple & glossy logos. 1901-2014.
Bobble hair mod.
Any baseball card by Klavier.

Not sure what the bolded means, and don't elaborate because that's not what these forums are for and privacy should be respected. I just will assure you that this game has, for a number of us, helped us through difficult times in our lives by taking our minds of things with a pleasantly immersive pastime.

That said, go through the online manual and the introductory videos. Then dive in and play all sorts of ways until you find a style that pleases you most. This game is so customizable, with so many options and settings, that no one can tell you the best way to play. Leagues are highly disposable in this game! (Until you really get hooked and start investing a lot of time and effort in setting them up.) Trial and error is the best way to learn after you grasp the basics with the manual, the videos, and these forums.

Good luck and enjoy.

Not sure why it is highlighted either...lol. Nothing really bad, just insanely busy with, well life

I want to play as realistic as possible. Not a fan of the classics, etc. obviously I appreciate them, but not interested in old skool seasons. I want to be a modern day GM and play this game as realistically as possible. Also, I figured spending the money on the 2014 version would not be a waste. I can re-introduce myself to everything and then decide about OOTP 15, which looks like an awesome game in the making...

Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to look for these links!

No, I bolded it, saying that I don't know what you meant but it resonated with me. I'm glad it's nothing bad, just busy. OOTPB can help with that, too! Just keep in mind that OOTPB is more important than anything with the possible exception of your family.

Thank You, Déjà!! Much appreciated.

I know exactly what you were saying about "tragic events", etc. in life. Been there more than I would have liked to. In this case I should have chosen better wording, but yes, we have definitely seen our fare share as a family already.

And it has always been games such as this one, that can help distract Can't wait to really dive into OOTP 14...
