How do create a league for solo play?

I want to play solo (manage both teams) and create a historical league where I can choose teams from past years (8 WS winners, 4 NL & 4 AL). I downloaded OOTP and an overwhelmed by the choices and options. Don't know where to start to do what I want. I played Strat-o-Matic board and comp game for 30 yrs and and I am still lost looking at OOTP. Help please!!

Well, you've got a long way to go but the journey will be worth it. Start with:

Out of the Park Baseball Videos

and

Out of the Park Baseball Manual

What you are talking about can be done (with the exception of playing yourself head-to-head; well, maybe you could do that with some difficulty; usually though, you control one team and play against the others managed by the AI) but to try to explain to you how to play the game from scratch may be a bit too much for this venue.
