Question for guys following my NCAA baseball uniform thread...
Hey guys, I have a question for the ones of you following my uniform thread. What you be opposed to me making more semi fictional uniforms for the teams? The reason being, is they take a long time to replicate especially doing them to near 100% accuracy. Some of the stripes on some of the jerseys are a real pain to make. I would make them similiar in this case but not exact. I will still make many of them close to what they are, but may add a few alternates that are different than their real sets. I would be able to make more of them alot faster this way. I will still be very detailed in the quality of the ones I do (using conference logos, brand logos,etc.). Some of the teams do not have alot of pics to go by and I would make some fictionals in this case. Let me know either way. Thanks! -Robby

To me, I prefer accuracy over quantity, but then again I wouldn't want you to spend too much time on each uniform.

They are still going to be pretty accurate if I go that route. I am still debating on what i am going to do though. Thanks!

Semi-fictional works for me. I have went that route with some of the summer collegiate teams I have done, as it is just too hard to recreate things 100% accurately.

Given your description I could absolutely get behind the semi-fictional idea. I honestly wouldn't notice if the striping isn't perfectly exact anyway and since it makes it quicker and easier for you seems like it'd be a good idea.

In most cases the changes will be subtle. For example, I didn't put a stripe on the Kennesaw State yellow jerseys and black ones. They had a stripe going down the backside of the sleeves that wouldn't be seen on the uniforms and it would be impossible to line it up correctly without seeing the back of the jersey. It didn't change the look of the uniform at all. I will do like I have done for a few teams and add some fictional jerseys such as SC,Furman, the Maine light blue jerseys. I am working on a camo jersey for Kennesaw State that is fictional. I will also add teams that do not have baseball teams too, such as Wyoming. I also made the SC State team which does not exsist. I like creating my own stuff too, so I may start adding more original designs to the teams real stuff. I am going to continue to make them as real as possible. I will just add more original stuff to the mix as well.
