Exclamation Roster Management

I dont know if anyone else is having problems with this. I am the leafs and I am trying to assigning Sam Carrick to the Marlies cause that is where he is playing this year. I cannot for the life of me find him on the roster for the marlies or even ECHL. But when I go to trade him he is there! He is shaded green. Right clicking on his name does not give me and option to bring him up WTF! Is there a way for me to do this via editor? Also he is seen under protected MAX roster or something like that? What does that mean? How can I fix this issue?

Go the Marlies roster screen and then click 'Reserve List'
You will find him most likely there. Yes this is buggy - if you send a player down and there are already higher rated players there on his position (Mostly AI contracted garbage players) the AI automatically put him on the reserve list and you can never ever access him again - except for trading him
I hope they´ll fix this too with the next patch so that the AI stops automatically signing players - or cater the option to controll the farm system too

Thats just stupid! So how could I insert him into the lineup? This is a simple thing that should have been added to the game and a option for you to make decisions for the minors.

I also had the issue and hope its fixed, but I did find a work around.

1/ I resign from my team as GM
2/ Assign myself to the AHL or ECHL team
3/ Make the roster changes
4/ resign and take over NHL club again

hope this helps

When you do this does the computer GM completely change around your NHL team?

Sorry if I missed the update somewhere...

Has this been addressed? I believe I have the most recent version of the game and my players disappear to the reserve team in the AHL, and I don't really have the drive to use commish mode to fix it every time I send a player down.

For me, this makes the game a bit unplayable. Though I did do a 15-year game with a junior team and had a fun time graduating kids to the pros where I didn't have to deal with AHL/NHL roster management.

Hey Sebastian - Can I get a quick update on the issue of AHL and ECHL teams placing your guys on their reserve team? Sorry if you've answered this elsewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Dooby dooby doooo...

A simple yes/no to the issue of sent down players being added to AHL/ECHL reserve lists would be helpful.

I'm still playing a lot as a junior team, but I'd like to have a substantive NHL game where I don't have to micromanage minor league rosters.

how do you get a junior team past the second season. No matter what I do, how I try, I can never get through a second season with a junior team. game crashes at some point.

I've played a 16-season game with the Red Deer Rebels and maybe crashed twice. So, I've been lucky about that.

At what point are you crashing? When you switch from June 30 to July 1 and it has to process the changing of seasons?

I could probably write a book about playing in the juniors w/ FHM14...

The issue that you don't get your players back when they are on reserve of a minor team is a bug and fixed now.

The issue with players always going onto the reserve list was not reproduce able , the CPU will put them were it thinks the player fits. Maybe your scouts and the minor team scouts see the player different.

Would it be possible that you send us one of the saves that crashes, that would help a lot?

Thanks for answering... glad to hear you fixed that bug!

I disagree that the issue of players going to the reserve list is a matter of difference between how scouts see things and an acceptable way for AI to work.

What I think is going on is that when you call up a player from the minor league team, the minor league team thinks they need to sign a new player to compensate. Then when you send a player back down, they don't prioritize the sent down players over a FA they signed, thus pushing your sent down player onto the reserve list.

I'm not sure if you understand that any NHL team would terminate their affiliation with an AHL or ECHL team if the minor league team wasn't playing and developing their NHL team's players. That HAS to be fixed if you want to make this game more realistic and reflective of the hockey world.

If you were an NHL GM and you sent down a prospect to continue to develop in the AHL and the AHL team put your prospect on the reserve list while they played some career minor leaguer instead, what would you do?

Is changing a farm team's AI to prioritize the parent club's players doable or even been looked into?

I understand your concerns. I will look into it tomorrow and try to add that the CPU puts a bigger priority on player from the parent team.

Bump. Any word on this issue and whether it's hard to fix?
