Why are my Pitching Staff ratings dropping

I'm playing year 5 of my dynasty and after I won the Playoffs, all my pitchers took a big hit on their "stuff" and "control" ratings. Looking around the league, nearly all the pitching staffs are being overhauled and star pitchers from the year before are now in the bullpen.

My scout did retire after my preseason and I hired a new one, but it seems something happened to my league globally that doesn't seem right. Every previous year, the pitching staffs would remain essentially the same, with maybe one or at the most 2 starters on each staff changing to a younger player. This year, every staff in the league has taken on a completely new look, and Rube Waddell and Christy Mathewson are in the bullpen. (Waddell won the Best Pitcher Award the previous year).

I'm at the beginning of Spring Training and things haven't corrected themselves yet.

well the ratings could be because of your scout, the strange roster moves on the other hand... you could always make a copy of your league and run a test and see if it fixes it's self after spring.

and then there are questions of your settings, real-life transactions, that kind of thing

I noticed the weird things happening right after the playoffs and after the Draft. I will try restarting the league from that save point. If there are any settings I should check that may cause this to happen, please let me know and I will try to correct them as well.

Just curious, what year are you in and are you using recalc or development?

I just finished 1904. Recalc, based on 3 years, base ratings on neutralized stats...

I think I just fixed it by changing my recalc from 3 to 5 years. I think I may have switched to "neutralized" during the season, so I swithced that back to "real" I also changed potential for recalc period only. Everything seems back to normal with my new development report.

Wow, that is crazy then. That's right in the prime of Rube and Christy's careers. I can think of nothing that would cause this. The only thing I see when looking at both players is that the k numbers went down for that period, but I can't see how that would relocate them to the bullpen.

That is one reason why I make it a point to get the big names on my team so they are in their correct spots.
